Can Lorenzo New to Team Manager

Yamaha announced that starting this year, Jorge Lorenzo has a new manager for the team, Wilco Zeelenberg. Former Dutch rider joined the MotoGP squad after "transferred" from the World Supersport factory teams from Japan. There he had offered the 2009 world championships with Cal Crutchlow.

In 2008, this 44-year-old man joined Yamaha Motor Europe as a test rider and technical coordinator. Thus, the Yamaha environment familiar to Wilco, who made his debut in motor racing event in 1986 to 80 cc class.

"I would like to congratulate Wilco on his appointment. I wish him success in his new challenge," said team boss Lin Jarvis, Tuesday (12/1/2010). "I am sure, the team and Jorge will benefit from Wilco's long experience as a rider, Yamaha racing technicians, and newly achieved success as a team manager.

"We look forward to soon join the Fiat Yamaha team so they can work together with Davide Brivio, two team managers under the supervision of Team Director Masahiko Nakajima," he said.

Meanwhile, Zeelenberg welcomed the decision to put it into the Yamaha MotoGP team. According to him, is an award and he was very pleased with the new challenges it will face.

"After nine years working for Yamaha, I am very pleased to join the official Yamaha MotoGP team. This is a great honor and I am very pleased with the new challenges. Jorge is a fantastic rider and I can not wait any longer to start working with him and the crew , "
Zeelenberg said.

"I am a very competitive person. I will do everything I can do to build a good atmosphere and fight to win the world title," he said.
