SR 6.6 earthquake rattles Japan

An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale (6.6. SR) rocked Japan on Saturday (17/09/2011), about 126 kilometers southeast of Hachinohe off the east coast of Honshu island. The news agency quoted U.S. Earthquake, USGS.

Japanese state television, NHK, said there has been no reports of damage and no tsunami warning issued after earthquake, which occurred at 2:26 pm. Meanwhile, a series of smaller magnitude earthquakes still occur after a large earthquake and tsunami hit Japan on 11 March.

March 11 disaster that killed more than 20,000 people and sparked the world's worst nuclear crisis since the Chernobyl disaster 25 years ago. Center for Japanese nuclear power plant in Fukushima was paralyzed and spread radiation from the disaster of March.
