Israel, stop the Police Cooperation with Turkey

Israel reportedly has returned cop who became a representative in Turkey, as a form of termination of bilateral cooperation with his former allies.

"Israeli Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch move the Israel Police representative in Ankara, Turkey to Bucharest, Romania," said a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Public Security of Israel Tal Volovich, as quoted by AFP on Tuesday (09/20/2011).

"Minister Aharonovitch sparked this decision because Turkey and Israel bilateral relations deteriorated. There will be no police cooperation between the two parties," he added.

Israel and Turkey's relationship worsened after Israel attacked the ship volunteers Turkey, Mavi Marmara who want to go to bring aid to the Gaza Strip in May 2010. Israeli forces attack against a group of six volunteers ship, killing nine Turkish residents.

Ankara is demanding an apology to Israel, but Israel refused to apologize and said his actions were offensive to defend itself and its blockade on Gaza is legal.

In early September, the Turks had expelled Israel's ambassador and immediately freeze its military ties with Israel. Turkey even ready to escort the fleet with the help of its warships and naval patrols begin to add in the Mediterranean Sea.
