Jakarta - Minister of Transportation has issued a Regulation of the Minister of Transportation No. KM 35/2010 on Tariffs of Railway Transport People with Economy Class which raised the rates throughout the economy KA. The tariffs will come into force this year.

"Indeed the government has made rules like that, but have not applied because there is no contract between the regulator by the operator," said VP of Public Relations of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Sugeng detikFinance Priyono when contacted, Monday (02/08/2010).

According to him, the regulator and operator in question is the government and PT KAI to implement the tariff increase. Nevertheless, he admitted his side had not know when the contract will be signed.

"But definitely increase this year," he said.

He said the rate increase in the economic train is done so the company could raise a red plate waiter to meet the quality standards in accordance with the desires of consumers (consumer comfort).

One of the compliance standards that will be state-owned enterprises (SOEs) that transportation is to improve the quality of economy seats on the trains, repairing broken windows, lights on every car and most of all clean the toilets in the car.

"The point is to raise standards of service quality to consumers," he explained.

Here's a list of the rate increase contained in the ministerial regulations:

* KA Kertajaya Surabaya Pasar Turi-purpose Senen Market, up from USD 43 500 to Rp 52 000 (19.5%)
* KA-Padalarang KAHURIPAN Kediri purposes, up from USD 38 000 to Rp 45 000 (18.4%)
* KA Logawa, goal-Jember Purwokerto, up from USD 40 500 to Rp 46 000 (13.5%)
* North Kutojaya KA, Kutoarjo goal-Tanah Abang, up from Rp 28,000 to Rp 32,000 (14.2%)
* KA Siantar Express, goal-Siantar Medan, up from Rp 12,000 to Rp 13,000 (8.3%)
* KA Brantas, the purpose of Kediri, Tanah Abang, up from USD 45 500 to Rp 52 000 (14.2%)
* KA Princess Deli, Medan-Binjai purposes, up from USD 14 o'clock to Rp 16 000 (14.2%)
* KA Serelo, goal-Lubuk Linggau Kertapati, up from Rp 15,000 to Rp 18,000 (20%)

* Economic KRL AC Manggarai-Serpong, up from Rp 5,500 to Rp 6,000 (9.09%)
